Gallery
Welcome to our Gallery. From this page, you can explore all of the artist diagrams we created. After you have had a chance to experience the diagrams in the Gallery, you might like to visit the Sort & Explore tab where you can filter results by discipline (or any other keyword you come up with). To protect privacy, we haven't identified artists by name unless they've given us permission.
Star Diagrams
Stars show the amount and type of artistic activity (exhibition, performance, teaching, etc.) an artist reported on his or her résumé by year. The top of the graph, or 12:00 position, marks the first work reported by an artist, while 11:59 represents the most recent. Some artists' stars show careers that are just beginning; other stars illustrate decades of work. For a thorough explanation of how the data was used, and a glossary of terms, go to the About the Data tab.
Click on a star to animate the graph.

Globe Diagrams
Globes represent quite literally where an artist's work has been. Using the same activity categories as the stars, we mapped the coordinates of each résumé entry sequentially. The cumulative path logged by the artist's work is quite substantial Use your mouse to reorient the trail left by the artist's work when it finishes animating. For a thorough explanation of how the data was used, and a glossary of terms, go to the About the Data tab.
Click on a globe to animate. (See instructions for technical requirements if you don't see an animated globe.)
